Do overs

I've been thinking a lot lately about do-overs. I have had the blessing of a few do-overs in my life but my actual thoughts regarding do-overs has been focused in really only 2 areas. Books and Life. First lets talk books. I was working on my reading list for 2024 and I was surprised that some books on my bookshelf that I haven't been able to let go of were begging me to read once more. A few of the books I want to do-over this year are ..... Hinds Feet for High Places - (Hannah Hurnard) This book is an allegory dramatizing the yearning of God's children to be led to new heights of love, joy and victory. It's the story of Much-Afraid. My story is very much like her story.  Pilgrims Progress - (John Bunyan) A Christian allegory that is regarded as one of the most significant works of theological fiction in English literature. I love the thee's and thou's.  HMMM what's up with my love of allegorys.  A Praying Life - (Paul E. Miller) This book has changed my...

A Noticer

It's been way too long since my very first post. I've been working a lot and it's okay. I love being back out there in the working world. BUT boy does it take up lots of your time and then there is my little sidekick that doesn't understand, so when I come home, most all she want is my attention. Anyway, enough excuses. Usually it's situations that people are in and they just need a new perspective. With a new perspective - a broader view - it allows people to regroup, take a breath, and begin again. I'm not as I want to be with that kind of noticing but I am good at noticing things that are wrong. Misspelled stuff, deta...

Welcome!

Welcome -    Surviving Small Living Large with Deana It has been my desire, rather dream, for the past several years to write a blog. I've got a pocket full of good excuses as to why I haven't made this dream a reality. I realize there are at least 100 and 1 excellent tutorials out there to help one out, but like I said, I got a pocket full of excuses. Until NOW.... And now...I've decided to throw caution to the wind and give it a go. They say I need to introduce myself to you my readers. Most of you all know me well already, but for those that may not and may have just stumbled onto my blog - My name is Deana. Pronounced: Dean-a. Easy to pronounced when it's seen/explained that way but otherwise most often it is mispronounced. I'm currently single, however not by choice. 2/22/22, don't you just love that date? That's my divorce date. I do not, but do struggle at times, to allow that date to define me. Divorce has hit me hard more than once but this blog is ...
