Apartment update
Some things got done while I was gone to the Conference and some of that was some drying. Drywall mud was applied but then it had to be allowed to dry. When I returned my contractor gave me an assignment. He is a Christian and I'm sure he knew I'd jump at his suggestion. I'd heard of folks doing this but just didn't think of doing it on my own.
He asked me to write some of my favorite scriptures on the unfinished door jambs. So I got write on...I mean right on that.
Also this last week the paint went on. I'm told the next steps will be quicker. I've got a coupe pictures purchased for the walls, a small refrigerator on the way and my mind is consumed with the excitement of unpacking my stuff that's been in storage. Two years and 4 months ago I shut the door on most all of my things. Of course I've opened that door a few times, but only to grab a thing or two. The majority of my things has been out of sight. You know there has been little that has been missed. Just some sentimental things really. Or maybe a few books. Hoping that is going to aid in yet another downsizing I will be doing as I step into minimal living for real. Not shrugging my shoulders and saying I've had a difficult life living with so little of my things. I've certainly had ALL needed essentials. Soon I will be saying what you see, is all I own and most importantly all I truly need. I'm real excited about that and yet I know it will be a challenge to make decisions on what will work in my new living space and to once again let go of even more things. Continuing to survive small is my dream. X-cess has to go. My little less then 350 square foot area will serve me by providing (#1 priority) a sleeping area, (#2 priority) a convenient place for my girl to look out the window, and (#3 priority) a writing space.
My contractor suggested not to go down and look at my living area this week UNTIL Tuesday evening. Apparently lots of progress is expected to be made in the next couple days. Not sure I can comply.
Some of my favorite scriptures that I wrote on the door jambs.
John 10:27, 28 - My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
II Peter 1:3 - His divine power has granted us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called us...
Proverbs 16:9 - The heart of a man plans His ways, but the Lord establishes his steps.
Habakkuk 3:19 - God, the Sovereign Lord, is my strength....
Psalm 16:11 - You make known to me the path of life; in your presence is fullness of joy;
