Getting some stuff on the .....
walls. Thought I was ready to go ahead, although I heard the voice of my father saying, "I want you to leave stuff off the walls at least for a month or so." That was his words to us after he had finished as we had finally talked him into painting our room, or Mama talked him into a fresh coat somewhere in the house. Painting was not his favorite thing to do so I think he just enjoyed seeing those nice walls for a while. I invited my friend Lynn over and she did not disappoint as we discussed where to hang things and then she did the hanging. (Thank you so much Lynn.) I've never hung things on my own so her knowledge was needed and appreciated. I purchased what I thought would go great above the entrances (doors) of my space. Nope....we found much better places for them. I really, really like not having anything in that space now, and I got to use what I found as well. In the bedroom:
I forgot I had a small collection of birdhouses. Not sure I will be able to use them or not but I loved this pictures of the birds on a wire for my space. I will put a thin book case below it to display my mothers collection of mailboxes.
I had this old, old picture of my Grandmother and Grandfather. All her children are gone and when it was offered to me I felt truly blessed. It's been in a box too long. The young girl sitting on a bench is my Mother. Another picture that has been in a box under the bed for too long. Dad and his baseball team and the baby with the bronze shoes...is me. Oh and Mama's senior picture. I embroidered the saying, "When someone you love becomes a memory the memory becomes a treasure." I had not considered putting the photos together like we did. It only took me a quick minute to agree because I feared letting that shelf become a catch all. Now it won't.
Grandma and Grandpa look crooked but they aren't. I also hung the embroidered picture and it looks better. I took a new picture but it takes forever to load for some reason. Hopefully my new photo will appear soon so I can share.
Can't really tell much but this was one of my favorite pictures that hung in my home. It says: A house is built with boards and beams. A home is built with love and dreams. Thought this would compliment my farmhouse look.
In the living area I was able to use a couple of my favorite things from ... well what I consider my previous life. I love the windmill and the wheat and the barbed wire. And in the other picture I love the big tree. It reminds me of so many that were right outside my door but that I had to leave behind. I realize it's a winter scene but I dearly love it and it says, Be still and know that I am God - Ps. 46:10
So there ya go. My small living space is feeling more and more each day like a small home that will bring me much joy. A bit more cleaning of the storage, sorting and finding treasures and then most likely I will purchase a better office chair and do me some writing.
You’re welcome! You hung the embroidery without me? Yes, I need to see the pic! ;) Thanks again for letting me help.
